Change bluetooth stream via steering wheel
Hi All -
I've been trying to figure out a way to change the track via the steering wheel's scroll wheel when using Google Music on Android (via BT). It always comes back with "Not available", but I can easily change the track via the iDrive controller. Is there any reasoning behind this, or a setting I'm forgetting to enable? I don't have the extended cluster / pro nav if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance! |

Functionally the process is push or rotate the thumbwheel on the steering wheel and once you see the next (scroll wheel up) or down(scroll wheel down) a push of the them wheel should let the music you are streaming go to next or last track. This works on my 2014 428XI when I use Pandora or the music on my phone. I do have the extended instrument cluster, don't know if that makes the difference.
hope it helps |

i had the same issue with my non-extended cluster after i retrofitted NBT.
The jog wheel shows everything fine for music stored on the hard drive and radio stations. but shows "not available" for stereo bluetooth. something interesting to keep in mind though... i use a galaxy note 3 running custom rom. Whenever i use the Hyperdrive rom, the cluster shows not available but if i scroll up and hit the jog dial it skips to the next song, or scrol down and hit jog dial it goes to previous. All while it still showed "not available" on the cluster. when i use the Tweaked rom it does not work at all. |

donsbabybeamer - both pushing and rotating the scroll wheel result in "not available" . Are you using iOS or Android?
1lyfe - Interesting, that's pretty much what I'm seeing too - works fine for everywhere except BT audio. Interesting that the different ROMs make a difference, I assume you're on lollipop? |
