Another chuffed ACS suspension owner

We'll after deliberating for ages I had the springs done earlier this week at Darren Wood Stockport, what a revelation wish I'd done it after a month..!!

I have travelled from the North West to South Lakes twice this week up the A595 and across Corney Fell and it's like a new car all the bounciness and floatiness has gone, it corners with precision and in Adaptive Sport Mode it handles like a BMW should.

I was thinking of a change next year as I was so disappointed in the handling but now I will be keeping it and upgrading the power instead.

Another satisfied Schnitzer springs customer!

Yacht!

Regarding the springs, I think BMW must get a cut of the ACS spring profits, which is why they keep manufacturing cars which make fitting them almost compulsory!

Your 330d looks lower than the normal ACS drop in that small picture! Very nice.

I love that M5 too

Cheers, I'm blaming you lot on here! I had the ACS springs fitted and 12mm spacers all round.

Then while I was waiting back at the showroom I started mulling over the exhaust options! I just need to ask Lorcan some questions (as he was on holiday) before I go ahead with it.

Luke picked me up in the M4, which is awesome in every respect, (IIRC you've had the pleasure of driving it.)

It's a nice set up down there and worth the 300 mile round trip, Ian is a lovely guy + Chris and everyone back at Rossiters.

Big difference on the springs? I totally understand why there would be on xdrive 3 series, but one would have thought that the standard M5 set up would be ideal already.

And spacers... amazing what difference 1 cm of extra does to the stance of a car!

Yup, couldn't agree more - it's worth the trip and they are all great peeps. That M4 is a bit bonkers - just needs decent set of dampers!! How are you finding your springs? Ian reckoned it was a good thing to do to the M5's when I was chatting with him last visit.

Call me a tart but I wanted the 20mm drop as the m5 rides quite high compared to my last M car, I knew the ride wouldn't be compromised due to ACS "fast not hard" philosophy.

And the spacers were of course pure aesthetics, in terms of a review the car rides the same but tackles sweeping A roads in a way it couldn't before it carves into corners with zero roll and feels more four square on the road.

Nothing wrong with getting the aesthetics right!

The springs are a real step on from the standard fit items, the biggest gain is one you don't expect, traction has improved hugely the car really digs in and goes, where before it would spin up in 1st and 2nd and squirm in 3rd.

The best £ mod you can make to car as you know, I've ordered the ACS export exhaust today from Lorcan, can't wait!
