E90 Pre-LCI Adaptive to LCI Bi-Xenon.

I have an 08 E90 with Adaptive headlights. They don't work correctly: driver's side doesn't go L-R and the passenger side housing leaks and the lens is cloudy on the inside.

Rather than invest a large amount into fixing every issue and STILL ending up with ugly-ass amber turn signals, I'd rather invest a solution that solves all three:

1. Adaptive issues
2. Cloudy lenses
3. Amber turn signals

The best OEM-like solution to all three is to go LCI Bi-Xenon, and I can get brand-new housings for a good price. So, this is the direction I've decided to go.

I've searched online and can't seem to find anyone that's done this exact swap (pre-LCI AHL to LCI BX). I can find retrofits of AHLs, retrofits of BXs, but I can't seem to find anyone that ditched their current AHLs for a newer model BX.

I understand I'll have to code out the Adaptive function in the vehicle build, I've got that covered; however, I'm looking for others that may have done this swap and have advice on the hardware needed (bulbs, ballasts, etc.).

Any thoughts?

Update: now neither side moves L-R.

I guess it knew I was talking about it. Lol.

OP I PM'd you back. I did this conversion. It was pretty much plug and play. Use all of the LCI AHL modules, bulbs, ballasts, etc. You'll get a bulb out error and the turn signals will blink fast because the car will think that the turn signals are out due to the change to LEDS which draw much less power. That should be easily coded out though.

you're welcome! Now if you start swapping FRM's, that's where I encountered some issues that I'm still trying to iron out.

So, if I understand right, you can swap the entire headlight without a problem except the flasher that blinks. Does the adaptive work? (turns right and left/ Up and down)

Also, what is the frm? Why change it?

Thanks
