My new favorite inexpensive performance tire

I'm always playing with different inexpensive tire brands because I burn through shoes quickly. I've got a fair amount of road race time under my belt and feel that I know what to look for in a performance tire without breaking the bank.

Surprisingly, the Achilles ATR Sport 2 has a UTQG rating of 400 which would make one think that this tire would be quite hard, not the case. Achilles are well known in the drift community and are extremely inexpensive compared to Contis or Michelins. I just put on a set in sizes 255/35-19 and 275/35-19, headed up to the North GA mountains and was pleasantly surprised. They are round and balance out perfectly, stick well, predictable, don't squeal, and I tested at 80+ in a torrential downpour on the way home yesterday on 400S.

Check out the prices from Simpletire.com!
