Above the Clouds: Official TV Commercial for 2020 BMW 7 Series

Above the Clouds: Official TV Commercial for 2020 BMW 7 Series
16
COMMENTS

The new BMW 7 Series stands for an extraordinary presence, maximum performance and unique comfort. The newly designed super-slender headlight units provide an attractive visual contrast with the significantly enlarged BMW kidney grille. On the rear, the newly designed apron, the narrow reflectors and the trapezoidal tailpipe trims make the rear appear wide and present. Extended stitching and the high-quality interior trim strips offer an especially luxurious ambience. The BMW 7 Series Sedan also extends driving pleasure and safety. BMW Personal CoPilot combines numerous driver assistance systems and automated functions that help the driver in various situations.

The commercial "Above The Clouds" conveys metaphorically how important it is to not let yourself be stopped by inner and outer obstacles, but to courageously and confidently find a new path that is your own. As a bad weather front prevents a private plane from starting, the pilot makes an unusual decision: Instead of the plane, he accelerates his BMW 7 over the dark and rainy runway strip. His path takes him through the clouds to the sky and the sun, higher and higher, until he breaks through the highest blanket of clouds on a pass road. Up there, above the clouds and the storm, the driver experiences a moment of serenity, clarity and breathtaking beauty - a luxury experience that is usually only reserved for pilots.

The worldwide market launch of the new BMW 7 Series will begin in March 2019.

that commercial is fitting as the kidney grills are tall enough to be above the clouds.

Hate to say it but the jury is still out for me until I see it in person. The rest of the car looks great. I am really digging the lighting.

I liked it..the voice was a little over the top though, like Hyundai ads.

It's been a while since I actually liked a commercial from BMW.

but maybe I'm biased for being a pilot

I love this new 7, it's soooo boss. It looks like what the top of the line car should look like in the BMW range. Very commanding.

Its actually starting to grow on me, however like I always say and have been saying for years when it comes to new models, I need to see it in person before I make a judgement. Cool commercial though

I thought it was a great ad. And I am not a big fan at all of their M-town campaign or the lasers on M2 shenanigans they've been wasting R&D money on lately. New 7 is a knockout, too. Just gorgeous and powerful looking and everything a 7-series should be from the outside. The looks are not up for debate at this point. Haters of the large grille need to find a new hobby.

These launch films are always super cringey.

Most of the people complaining about the car are redditors and jalopnik commentators, the majority of whom will frankly, to put it nicely, will never be in the market for cars even half this price. Point being that their opinion ultimately does not matter to BMW.

This update looks great. The G11 was rightfully chastised for looking bland and this spruces it up quite a bit. It can hold its part now parked next to an S class Merc. Unfortunately the interior dash design is still bland which I feel was the weakest point of the car. Oh well

They can move over to the Lexus forums for starters. Plenty of grill hate there
