Is it just me or do the 7's grilles look genuinely comical?

People who would otherwise buy this car are going to say no, because of that freakishly huge grill. BMW trying to compete with the S Class yet making decisions that just hand sales to Mercedes.

Yep, I'm no MB fan boy at all but the S class is a class act in comparison. Just look at it, and this isn't even a good picture

BMW seem to really struggle to find a design language compared with rivals.

So they think I know let's put a ridiculous comical grill on it ! Sort of thing my children would do

The more I look at this 7 I just can't help feeling they need a radical shake up at the top of this business

My only guess is that the Chinese market is dictating the grille design, being that it's such a large market, and the Chinese generally like like big blingy ostentatious things! :

I have been a long time (loyal) customer to BMW and I really dislike the direction BMW design is headed with those kidney grills. I think it's time to switch brands

Already seen in RL...
Sorry for the not perfect quality. The fotos to the end should show some details. I think it's a M760Li 2019 G11 G12 Facelift.

I think its impressive!!

As a 530e owner, I am really interested in the 745e's powertrain trickling down to the 5 Series. The extra ev range is most welcomed. As is having a BMW in-line 6 again.
