Front Seat Width kind of narrow?
I've had my X3MC for 3 weeks now and for some reason I've just started noticing that I barely fit in the seat width wise. I weight about 220, 6 ft tall, and my thighs sort of over hang the butt/leg area bolsters a little bit. I haven't really found the seats uncomfortable per se but I think they would be much more comfortable in I fit completely inside the butt/leg bolster area. I'm no lard ass, but I'm not a skinny mini either. Anyone else experience this? Would the X5M(C) have wider seats? I don't notice this in our new 2020 Chrysler Pacifica minivan as I seem to fit within the entire seats in it and I must say they are more comfortable (not sure if it's all because of the width or just the seats are more comfy in general--of course it's not a performance vehicle either and I realize that fact). What do you think?

*the Comp seats are fantastic, but larger guys may indeed find them a bit narrow... test drive 'em first!

I would think larger guys would not fit in these seats comfortably. |

Hehe!! Yes, and they move slowly, so take your time playing around with all the seat settings... you should be able to find a comfortable position!

It's not the adjustable side bolsters I'm talking about, it's the bolster (lip??) on the butt portion of the seat that hugs your rear/legs. It's really my legs that seem to overhang the seat a bit. It's not uncomfortable, but it's noticeable that "hey, you legs don't totally fit in this seat buddy".

Nope, they aren't adjustable on the seat base, only the seat back. I agree, they are too narrow. They do have some flex in them though, I forced mine to flex out a bit by pushing outwards on each seat base bolster. Bit more comfy now.

Your local showroom will be the practical guide in this regard.

I'm not a wide guy and I also feel the bolsters on the seat cushion are on the tight side. It's not a big deal for me but I have wondered how a large person could feel comfortable sitting on them.

The mandatory Comp seats and 21" wheels are the primary reason I'm looking at a non-Comp model instead of a Comp version. The non-Comp can be ordered with the non-Comp sport seats and 20" wheels, which to my taste makes for a more comfortable vehicle while giving up a largely imperceptible amount of performance. A test drive convinced me the highly bolstered seats in the Comp would be nice on a track, but not so much in actual daily use and would be even less desirable on longer drives.

I have a non comp with 21’s but the regular sport seats (same as m40i) I test drove a comp and found the m sport seats to be too aggressively bolstered for my taste. Short drives no big deal...but road trips I was worried about. The standard sport seats have just the right of bolstering (adjustable side bolsters, and the seat itself I feel is plenty wide.
