X3MC Hatch opening by itself?!?

This has happened twice now. I find the back hatch on my X3MC is opened while the car is parked outside. Both times I have the key FOB is in my pocket but how am I somehow pushing the open hatch button twice to do this by accident while it is in my pocket? I don't think this is possible, certainly not a repeatable occurence. I suspect some sort of glitch. This have never happened in any other automobile I've owned. A very dangerous thing that makes me feel extremely vulnerable to theft or damage from rain.

P.S. Is there no way to close the hatch using the key FOB? I can't figure it out if there is. Very annoying.

Car can be coded to close the hatch via the fob.

How far is the fob from the car when this happened?

You can also ask the dealer to change the key so that the hatch doesn't open by pressing the key fob

Easiest solution is to buy a key case.

How far were you to the car?

The car was parked behind my office so at times maybe 30ft. It was terrible in my Alpina B7 at least once a week and sometimes for hours unless my staff noticed it. Its just a bad design

There is also theory on the G01 forum that water drops can trigger kick to open.

Mine missed a metal part on my garage door by an inch. Now I pull up further and test it to make sure it doesn’t hit.

I got the OEM fob holder and handle the keys like I am diffusing a bomb when taking out of my pocket

Go to dealer tell them about that issue, they will code open only when car is open, when is closed u can press remote etc and nothing happened, i done this on last Monday
