My Canadian 330i M Sport is missing paddle shifters

Sorry for the stupid question, but this is my first ever vehicle with an automatic transmission. I'm in Canada, and my 2020 330i has the M-Sport package. According to BMW Canada's website, I have everything included in this package except the paddles. I even have the M-Sport steering wheel! I didn't think about the paddles at first because I've never had a car with them.

Could this be a screw up of some sort?

In the US I think all G20s have it, but maybe its different in Canada? They do just screw up sometimes too.

Well, according to the BMW website I should have them. I paid a lot of $ for this package and I want what it says I'm supposed to have.

It shows it right there. I have absolutely everything else from the car color to the wheels. This is the only thing I don't have.

I think they screwed up. M Sport package for the G20 330i in Canada means paddle shifters.

That's what I'm reading. So would this BMW's fault at the plant? How do I go about fixing this? I want paddle shifters if I'm supposed to have them.

honestly i'm not sure what happened but that really is weird. you're sure you have the M sport package? double check your agreement that you signed.

contact your bmw dealer / delivery specialist?

that really sucks man, personally it would be a deal breaker for me

If it has the M sport steering wheel, it should have paddles? So weird that your car doesn’t have it.

The contract says M-Sport edition, M-Sport suspension, high gloss shadowline, black Sapphire metallic.

I also went on mdecoder and put my VIN. I have the M-Sport package, M-sports Suspension, M leather steering wheel and the M aerodynamic package.

Looks like I screenshot with a potato, but you can see the first four up top. M-Sport package.

Garage List
Can you show a picture of the back of your steering wheel? just curious what an M-sport steering wheel without paddle shifters looks like.

all I see is S337 (M Sport Package)
on the Canadian website If you select this package it automatically loads in the paddle shifters and there is now way to remove them. I have every other thing on my car that is with this option other than the paddle shifters. Never owned an automatic vehicle so paddle shifters never came to mind. But after seeing then in my options on the site I'm thinking it would of been a fun little option. I'll check with my dealership today.

It's not a mistake. You can option the "sport" variant without getting paddle shifters. I just did your exact build on BMW Canada's site and here are the options (with or without paddle shifters) and the interior picture...notice the M Sport steering wheel without paddles.

Here's a link to your build for reference (basically you select M Sport Package and then deselect the sport transmission with paddle shifters...it will reduce the price of the M Sport Package a bit but will leave you with the M Sport bumpers, and steering wheel - minus the paddles).

actually.....I just tried the build. if I select the automatic 8 speed regular transmission it tells me the that the M-Sport package must be taken off. I can't select the regular transmission with an M-Sport package. if I select the M-Sport package it automatically loads the 8 speed paddle shifters. if I go and try to switch back to the regular 8 speed it says it has remove the M-Sport package. so I'm lost...lol

Follow this...

1. Choose the engine option that just says "8 speed automatic transmission"
2. Add the M Sport package
3. Go back up to "engine choices" (you should see it has now changed your selection to "sport transmission with paddles" - change it back.
4. It will tell you that your selection will reduce the price by $2,000. Click okay.
5. Go back to your build and you will see you have all the M Sport package goodies with the exception of the "sport transmission with paddles"

Note: I have no idea if it's the same transmission just without the paddles, or something different.

if the OP can post a copy of the Moroney sticker we can see what is supposed to be on the car and the pricing. that way we can see if they reduced the cost by the $2K. Seems like an odd change.

I agree. I don’t think it’s an option in America though. I’ve not seen a G20 without paddle shifters here.

ok. just went to the dealership and he quickly explained. I'll ask for the sheet of everything I have when I go drop off my car to get the accessories place. But what he said is I have what is called a 330i M-Sport Edition. He said it's not on the BMW website and you can't build it online. Basically I have a mix of options that are from every package. example...I have the automatic trunk that is in the premium package enhanced and the ambient lighting...but on paper I don't have that package as I don't have everything that the package offers. I have everything in the M-Sport package except the paddle shifters. I have the lumbar support and comfort Access, but don't have a package that contains that. it seem I have some sort of mutant build. anyway, I'll get the paper and post it for everyone to see.

I didn’t know it was that different in Canada and America. In America, we can option the automatic trunk and ambient lighting separately. Blind spot, PDC, lumbar support, comfort access, LED headlights with cornering are part of the basic convenience package here. And you can’t get an M sport car without everything in the package. But yes. You need to get a detailed build sheet from them.
