I chose the Carbon Exterior Package over the Executive Package
I went with the former mainly because I think it looks great with BSM (hopefully) and for the front inlets (vs. the meshed cover). Given mine will be a 6MT (G80 BTW), I do wish I had the HUD as I heard from many folks that it's a game changer.
Do you think this was a dumb choice? Can't wait to get the car - ETA end of this week |

Personally I'm going with the Executive over the CE package. the Carbon exterior can be added later through OEM or aftermarket. the Executive options, not so much.

In another thread someone said it best, yes the BSM and carbon kinda fade into one another and don’t pop, but those who know Carbon will recognize it without hesitation.
Also, aftermarket or OEM, i don’t think anyone will do a better job than what was intended from the factory. Maybe it’ll look individual and custom, but better is subjective. |

Between the two, if you had to pick, I agree the exec is the way to go. It will also help more so in the resale IMO.

I'm going with both as I really want the OEM Carbon Fiber Exterior and there are some nice features in the Executive Package that I really like.
If it's one or the other I would go Executive Package as it's $1,700 cheaper which is a good starting budget for some aftermarket CF parts in the future.

I would go exec as that stuff either can't be added later or would be cost prohibitive to add later on. The carbon exterior package looks great but will get lost a little bit with the black exterior and you could also add it on later either with OEM or aftermarket.

Executive package... plus I couldn't get CF exterior when I ordered the car, and couldn't add it later due to it being an early VIN...
The HUD is definitely worth the difference. I have in in my Vette and wish every day it was in Raptor and STI. Counting the days... G80 went from the VTC to somewhere in S.C. Hurry on to Newport News ... |

HUD for 6MT is a f***ing gamechanger......I'll never get a car without a HUD again.

Agreed. I added a bunch of CF stuff to my last M4 and don't think I recouped money for a bit of it when I sold the car.

I'd go with Exec if I had to pick one. I ended up with both. I really liked what the CF pack does to the front and rear, especially the front

Going for carbon bits and the peasant headlamps? No way jose. The difference in appearance between base lights and DRLs and laser lights with larger DRLs is massive. The base lights are an eyesore in comparison and shouldn't even be fitted on an M car.
Carbon pack depends on exterior color IMO. I don't think the dark colors benefit as much while the lighter colors really are enhanced by the carbon pieces. |

Agree with most others...
I would also go with EP because of the features and you can't re-add later. CF can be added anytime, if OEM or aftermarket...of course probably more expensive afterwards, but you can choose what you want if not everything is interesting for you.. I went with both |

Exterior carbon package include the side mirrors, side vents, front vents, diffuser, and spoiler. Does not include the side skirts.

CF side vents are NOT included with the M Carbon Exterior Package. The other 4 things you listed are correcr. I think I saw them side vents being sold as M Performance parts...

I did the opposite as well. Unlike most car guys, I don't trip on myself for CF exterior on cars unless it's an exotic! The only part that appealed to me was the front bumper vents that cleaned up the front look. But I hope someone will release a part to go there?
