Are you ordering Individual paint?

Now that I've decided the G80 manual is my next car, I definitely want to go either Black Sapphire Metallic or Individual. Grigio Telesto is definitely at the top of my list. Maybe Porsche Grey Black?

Anyone else going with an Individual paint color? If so, what color?

I was trying to get Urban Green w/ Yas interior. GM told me it could take a long time to get that built. I wasn’t wanting to wait, so I ended up ordering the frozen white + yas, which I’m still excited for. At this point I plan to wait till the LCI for a custom order.

I’ve definitely seen some posts for custom US orders though..

It does seem like kind of a crazy amount to spend on a paint color when they have to paint the car anyway and it's not like you're taking it to a paint shop to have it done aftermarket, but I still decided to splurge on this one since the stock blues didn't excite me as much.

I believe the individual colors are hand painted generally vs machines.

Interesting. Wonder why. You'd think they could just put the individual color in the paint machine in place of whatever stock color would have been done. Does the paint somehow come out better when done by hand? I don't know how that all works.

My CA did say that they have to take all the parts out to a different paint shop to do it by hand which is why it adds 2 weeks.

Is it like this where it goes to the special shop or is it just for this expensive silver that looks like, silver.

We have seen so many indiv request so far. Im surprised when I saw the list. Some really cool colors in the pipeline which I think will look great on the platform. I always say if you can swing the extra cash, and the wait then totally do indiv. Makes the car stand out a lot and feel just a little bit more special

100% agree. I've got nothing but time (have a 2020 X3MC in the meantime) and money burning a hole in my pocket. Good to hear individual is available this early in production. Can you share the colors people are selecting?

sorry, that wouldn't be un-cool for us to disclose what we have submitted. if the buyer wants to they can. Lots of people (especially forum members) like to keep it to themselves till they get it and they can reveal it im sure you understand. Lets hope the request get approved!

That I'm not sure of but that's the reason why certain models are available for individual and some aren't. For example the X models in SC didn't used to be available due to the location but now they can, M3s are doable, but M2s are not since they have to transport the car to the individual location, paint it, and send it back. I think one fellow did get an indivudal M2 but they charged him 20k to do it due to the shipping hassle.

Do it. Out of every car I have ever had Java Green has been my favorite. I've never had as many people pull up to me at stoplights and gas stations to talk about a car as my M3. People asking if its wrapped or paint, young people, retirees, etc.

If I get a G80 I may get a Twilight Purple or something just to not do the same thing twice, but my heart really wants Java Green again. IDK. I told myself I was going to save for a bit and get an AMG GTR or 911 after my F80 but the cost difference is quite large and my wife wants kids soon. Tough choices.

Life is too short to play it safe with things like car colors. Get what speaks to you.

I flip flop on colors all the time. Currently have Santorini Blue on order, but I saw a Signal Green F80 the other day...man I'm tempted. I think my dream color on this car would be either Ultraviolet or Velvet Blue (neither an option on Individual).

Twilight purple would be awesome btw.

I'm having an existential crisis in deciding if I should request Estoril blue again or stick with Portimao after seeing it in person.

For my F80, I love blue cars but really did not like Yas Marina so I have no regrets about getting Estoril as I think it looks perfect. This time around, I honestly thought I was going to order a San Marino until I got a chance to put my car next to a Portimao and San Marino car back to back to compare the paints. I walked away still liking Estoril the most but thinking Portimao looks a lot better than expected. For the cost difference I'm not sure yet if it is worth it.

So, you are thinking about paying $4500 to re-get Estoril vs $550 to get PMB, which is essentially the same color? If it were me and I really liked Estoril and also PMB, I'd save the $4k and take the new color variation of the same color for a little variety. If I was going to spend an extra $4500 I'd get an entirely new color from what I had vs a color that I've had and has been around on cars for the past ~6 years. That's just me though. If you really like Estoril and want to spend the money on going individual with a standard color though then go for it.

While I do not think PMB and Estoril are the same color (PMB looked quite a bit darker and less vibrant to me when sitting beside my car), my pragmatic side is saying that I'm not sure Estoril is 8x better to match the cost.

I think if PMB wasn't an option, I wouldn't even be having this thought I liked it more than I expected both in pictures and in person. It's not my absolute perfect preference, but for the cost difference, I'm likely going to stick with PMB this time around... that is unless I see something else entirely new that catches my eye before the AWD allocations are available.
