Debadge?

Has anyone with a vehicle considered this? I'm still waiting on mine, but think it would look pretty solid without the badges. I expect the trunk would be easy, but have concerns about the ones of the grill and gills.

Pretty sure you would be left with holes that need to get filled/painted, no?

Don't know in the US, in Switzerland we can choose this.

I have never had any interest in de-badging. Whether its a base model or a top model, I think things look better as is.

Wasn't an option to debadge, at least not that I am aware of.

Shouldn't be holes left for the trunk, as they're generally on only with adhesive, though I would want to check a parts diagram prior to doing anything.

Debadging is a factory option with Porsches, and I get the impression it's more commonplace in Europe. I don't really understand it.

I guess I could see it for the Base since the badges are chrome - but for the comp, I think the black looks great.

But yeah, it's interesting

I will never de-badge any of my car. Why would I want to de-badge my M or M Competition...

It's like purchasing a limited edition Lambo or Ferrari or any other exotics... I paid the price and glad to tell the public that I have one of the "X" number of units out there in the market.

But this is IMO.. hehe...

I think with Porsche you can omit/change the model designation badges, but not the Porsche badges. The M3/M3 Competition badges may be adhesive, but the BMW badges I'm pretty sure have holes behind them.

My intention would be to remove only the m3 badges. The roundels do have holes behind them, as I've replaced them on other models (and, it's likely the same part on the g80 as almost everything else).

You posted it on a public forum and now you have a problem with people judging you? You really must be under 25.

Was thinking of doing the same OP, I like the clean / symmetrical look of a backend with no badges and don’t really care for the attention. All the photos I’ve found of the separate parts seem to indicate that the rear badge is flat-backed and glued on just like in the past. The badge in the grill appears to be built in (https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...8081144?c=az0x) so I’m not sure what can be done there. Might try and play with some black vinyl to cover it like they do with the CSL prototypes in spy shots, but I suspect that will not look great in real life. Same looks to be true for the side. I’m still waiting like you, so all I can do is google

It's just glued on there. I debagded the back of mine and people have no problem telling what the car is. I think it looks cleaner that way and is easier when you hand wash.

Lol. I don't have a problem with others being a d-bag. We all have different preferences, and putting another down for having different preferences is in fact a behavioral characteristic that has been scientifically linked to d-bags.

Different strokes for different folks. I live in a small mountain town, and would prefer to fly under the radar as much as possible. Now, of course purchasing a new m3 is a step in the wrong direction, and debadging it really won't change much, but that's where I come at this from.

Great info. I should have searched. Not searching before posting is another d-bag behavior...

I wouldn’t call Flagstaff a small mountain town. And anyone that cares is going to know what the car is anyway. But then again if it makes you feel more comfortable thanking no one knows but only you know then I guess it’s worth it.

The idea of removing stuff you just got done paying people to put on makes zero sense to me. Zero.
