To reflect or not to reflect??

That is the question...

My coupe is Alpine white and i hate the amber reflectors.

I want them gone!

So i spontaneously popped out the reflectors in the front bumper... primed them... and painted them. I put them back in with the same tape that was there to begin with... (still had enought stick to it)

Thats when i noticed two things:
1) the color didnt match up. (AW is a hard shade of white i guess)
2) the reflector was not flush with the bumper (extra layers of paint.)

so i attacked them with paint thinner and went back to the amber reflector.
Now I want to order painted ones, but am concerned about the color matching and also whether it will be flush or not.

looking to y'all who already have painted ones for an answer

anyone??

I have painted reflectors on my AW E92. Fits flush and matches perfectly.

I know what you mean about the 300 paint being a slightly different shade. You need to apply the right amount of clear coat to get that 'tint' of Alpine White that matches the rest of the car. For me, it took 3-4 coats of DuPont clear on a different body part that needed to be replaced (damn thieves).

I have "clear" reflectors on my AW and like it lot better than the amber one. I was not too crazy for the painted ones because it looks like a "knock out" piece you see on the bumpers.

Of course, that's a personal preference ...

Well the painted reflectors we sell are perfect match to the OEM BMW paint. We also have the clear/smoked reflectors that fit perfect as well if you want the functionality to still be there

Just buy some from Longtran, they match awesome and don't cost enough to waste your time trying to make yours work!
