Laserlights

Has anyone heard if Laserlights may now be available in Canada? I was advised when I ordered my G80 M3C in Nov 2021 they weren't available, and my dealer indicated this was still the case in January/22. My build date is March 12, I thought I'd ask if anyone has heard anything recently before my car goes into production. Thanks

I ordered my car back in Oct with the premium package, and at the time there was no indication that there would be any options deleted. Last week my sales advisor sent me the final build sheet that showed the options and pricing etc, and there was a line for "laserlight headlight removal". Got the car on Monday, and sure enough, no laserlights, and received a $1k credit instead.

I was a bit bummed at first, but really it doesn't seem like a big deal now. Yeah the DRLs don't look quite as cool, but functionality wise they're pretty similar unless you re-code the lasers to European spec. I wouldn't let it stop me from ordering or taking delivery of the car personally. Once you drive it all of your worries will fade away

Thank You. Oh I wouldn't kill the deal over the Laserlights. Just a nice to have. My SA advised today I will have them after all. That's the good news. 😀 The bad news? My build got pushed to May😡

I would kill the deal in a second over them. Especially with the $1k credit. Imagine the cost to retrofit those.
Fwiw I ordered in Dec and apparently have a May build.

Good to know. I ordered late Nov, if my May build date holds, I guess I'm not doing too bad. I will say I'm getting close to thinking I should just wait for a MY 23. But I suppose they will have lots of delays as well🤷

Were at the mercy of BMW unfortunately. I also have an individual color. I should clarify that I heard it's "end of May". Right at the cut off of the model year but I would prefer the current screen setup and want to avoid a second price hike as well.

I’m not interested in retrofitting them so that’s not really super relevant - I absolutely would have preferred to have the lights and not the credit though. So if your car comes in July or August, after 8 months of waiting you’d refuse the car if it doesn’t have laserlights?

Yeah. I'm not really willing to be flexible on a $120k car. BMW can figure it out, I don't need the car that bad and don't really want to compromise. My contract has a ton of conditions on it also.

Same May build, ordered Jan.

I also told my dealer to keep eye on my build sheet because I will not accept any deletion.

Interesting. My dealer also locked in the prior MSRP for me, and I got a discount on top of that. If I were to cancel an re-order it would have cost me much more for those headlights. Some nicer looking DRLs and a bit of blue plastic isn’t worth that much to me haha.

I had the same feeling.
I paid the $1000 for it, at this point, I don't see any value to justify this feature.

I just learned Laserlights will be included with my build, but the build date has been delayed from March to May

On the plus side, at least you’re getting exactly what you’re wanting!

Oh for sure! And, I will get to break in the car well before winter, all good. (Assuming I actually get the May build &#128556

I'm not expecting this car until October, which isn't ideal.

Yeah for sure. I've taken delivery of the past few 5's in October, so not able to have fun until the Spring. I now work from home, so don't drive as much. I guess in some ways getting those first few thousand on the odometer in the winter when "spirited driving" isn't a thing might be ok. 🤷

FYI more M cars are showing up now without Laser Headlights in Canada confirmed.
