If they put the iX headlights on the new 7er, I think it would appeal to a lot more people and improve the aesthetics a lot in the more conventional and conservative way. The split headlight design just doesn't do it for me.

Like all new BMW designs.. People will complain and be like it doesn't look as good as the last...

But in the end, it's always a better car than what it replaces, and the sales will speak volumes.

Like the ugly G80, this will grow on people and will look much better in person.

Agreed. Even just removing the upper drls and moving the hood line down to where it normally would be improves the look a ton.

I was convinced that there was nothing they could further improve on the design. I guess the guys of BMW design realised that also and ditched "natural beauty" and went for more ornamentation and conflicting lines since.

I think that looks fantastic. In a segment where blandness is rampant I’m glad to see BMW building something that makes a statement. It looks futuristic, aggressive, and expensive. It’s almost menacing. In fact if you replaced the bmw grill with a Rolls Royce grill it would totally fit as a Rolls. Someone with Photoshop skills should try it. It absolutely blows Benz, Audi, and Tesla away, inside and out. If I was in the market for a $140k ultra luxury sedan, this would be it.
