Lowering in Winter Toronto

Does anyone have a lowered manual and drive it in the snow? If so, is it a nightmare of plowing snow and ice? Reminds me of driving my '97 Prelude lowered with skirts lol.....it was basically a snow plow downtown Toronto I was also thinking, would it be easier/better to install an adjustable system and raise the car in winter and lower in summer? Probably much more expensive?

Thanks!

You wusses in T.O. don't know snow. Here in Buffalo. . .

Seriously, I have been having the same thoughts. My thought though is that a one inch (25.4 mm) drop won't effect you if you have proper tires.

I had Blizzaks on my Evo x (lowered 1") and on my current Tesla M3P which seems low to start with, and each seemed unstoppable.

I am hoping for the same with an xdrive.

My vote would be for VTF/HAS springs. Raise for winter and drop for summers. Pics are of the winter setup, front fully raised.

Just be careful because the oil pan is right there in front and ice can potentially poke a hole in the pan.

Yes, lower it and take a snow day the few hours snow is not cleared. On major streets you'd be fine.

Im lowered on KW HAS and I'm a manual. I dont venture out of the GTA so there are probably only 1-2 days per year that I cant drive it. Everything gets plowed pretty quickly and im on decent winter tires.

My experience with the last snow storm (a foot of snow) is definitely not enjoyable. Even though the main street had been plowed. None of the side streets or anything else had been cleaned up. Cars were stuck in entrance to gas stations or in Mall parking lots.
Even though I have xDrive with the M4 competition model...I still kind of weary that I would bottom out somewhere.
Mind you, I had been driving two X6M before this one. So going back to a low clearance drive is a new feel to me. But as someone said to me...if its snowing too hard...just work from home and don't go out.

I have mine lowered and rwd as well. Just stay out of snow storms and areas that are not plowed yet. Car will get stuck because of minimal clearance. I have been driving rwd cars for the past 15 years and never got stuck in Toronto, just have to drive smart.

I drove a lowered and tuned M3 F80 through 4 Northern Toronto winters. Used both Pirelli and Michelin snows. Never parked a single day due to snow, just adjust driving style accordingly.
