It would seem fairly obvious that the wider a wheel, the more concave it can be.

And I would imagine that the wheel offset is tied to this as well ?

I have noticed a fair amount of people with aftermarket wheels on their G42 still end up running spacers.

Was there not better offsets available when choosing the wheel specs ?

I've also noticed in these cases, the face of the wheel has very little concavity to it.

So, for the M240i xDrive - What are the widest wheels we can fit before possibly having issues ? 9F , 10R ? Maybe 8.5F , 9.5F is better ? Is 9.5F , 10R possible ?

I'm trying to understand how to use offsets and wheel widths to get a wheel that is concave.

Concavity can depend on the off set yes. If for example the off set is negative, chances are the wheel will be more concave. But that may also push the outer edge of the week towards the curb side. Depends on the wheel width and diameter.
Off set and concavity are not exclusive.

Sometimes you don’t have a choice. Depends on the width of the wheel and the style you choose.

Not everyone wants concave wheels.

You also need to consider wheel diameter, width and tyre size.
You’d be better not over thinking it and use a tyre calculator once you’ve selected a set of wheels.

Ah, that makes sense about the spacers. Since you can't get any width and offset you want , you just have to order as close as possible without having any fitment issues.
