paint finish

cleaned the car today for the 3rd time. I noticed how the gloss black on the wheels shows fine scratches quite bad in the sun considering they are Modesta coated, maybe my small wheel brush it too stiff ....I use one or the round type for brushing in the brake dust remover ,these pads must be crazy soft never seen so much baked on dust in less than 2k miles.
or more like the dealer made them before I had them coated ....see how they go next year if they look too bad I will powder coat them like I did my last F22 wheels .they were shocking from new not even fully sprayed only on the face.(made in poland) in fact I had to have a brand new wheel under warranty as it was so badly finished...

I've noticed the same thing, lots of fine scratches, my wheels were supposedly coated, but the dust sticks very well regardless of the cleaner I use, so lots of scrubbing required. I am going to polish them and coat with Carpro Dlux, hoping for better results. The wheels are in the house for the winter.

Ceramic coatings aren’t scratch proof. Use a brush like Wheel Woolies rather than a bristle brush of any kind. I’d also avoid any “specialist” cleaner unless you’ve neglected the wheels. You be surprised at what a snow foam or car shampoo can do with a little agitation.
Brake dust is one of those modern problems - the materials used to create the high friction required for modern vehicles and meet current environmental regs these days results in more dust.
