2011 328i I-drive question

Hello everyone, recently purchased a 2011 328i convertible with i-drive. However I am not able to locate my home address. I can find the address in google maps.

How can I find if the Idrive version/map version is upto date and if it is not the latest version, can I ask the dealer to update the software/map for free? or will they charge me for it?

How old is your house? If it is fairly new it may not be in the data base yet.

Your car should have come from the factory with the latest maps.

Your dealer can install updates for you when they are available, but it will cost you.

As a temporary solution you can simply program the location in as you sit in front of your house. Your car will simply route to the GPS coordinates. I had to do this for a buddy who lives in a new developement. Simply saved him as a contact so if I need to get out to his place I just look him up and nav to it.

Or you could just put in a location next to your actual house (i.e. store) and then I would hope you knew how to get home from there.

That way if someone steals your car they wont know where exactly you live and possibly break into your house.
