WTF!! How do I get the Idrive updated!!!?
I had the infamous ELV steering lock. Can't start my car get it towed in and ask that along with the fix they upgrade the CIP and nope. I even mentioned how long it takes for me to listen to music.
What is the "line" I need to tell SouthBay BMW to get it updated? -sm

It clearly depends on the dealer.
I brought my car in today for regular service, and asked if they could update progman, and gave them the line of the slow iDrive on startup, and they just added it to the list of things to do, no further questions asked. It might also depend on how busy they are. And since the holidays just started, I did not have the feeling they had lots to do. So when I go to pickup the car tonight it should be all done. |

just to add, the update was done, and although I have no idea if it is v25 or v26, I clearly have the new version as all the colours changed. Not sure if I like the new map colours, but at least the route sticks out more.

Cool...thanks for rubbing it in!! haha j/k
Well this blows, I need to find out who I need to talk to and what I need to say to that person and whatever dealer to get this updated. I can't stand when I get in the car and music doesn't start until I am part of the way down the road and I would really like the POI search. The colors are just colors and yeah probably makes it easier to view, but I want the function. -sm

What version do you have right now? Maybe you can tell them you have the pop up arrow missing.

Just in case you need it...print it out and just show them. It applies to most vehicles produced before 10/05. You get an automatic upgrade the latest version under warranty PLUS THEY TOP OFF YOUR GAS TANK as stated at the end of bulletin. So, if you have not had this issue addressed, and it appears your car qualifies...slap them in the face with this shit and say top it off BITCHES!!
SI B12 06 06 Engine Electrical Systems April 2006 Technical Service PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN THIS SERVICE INFORMATION ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES BEFORE CUSTOMER DELIVERY OR THE NEXT TIME THEY ARE IN THE SHOP FOR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIRS. SUBJECT Voluntary Emissions Recall 06E-A01: N52 - Reprogramming Vehicle for OBD Diagnostic MODEL E90, E91 and E60, E61 with N52 produced up to 10/04/2005 SITUATION The DME programming, as originally installed, may cause the OBD diagnostic not to detect potential malfunctions of various emission relevant sensors. As a result, in case of a sensor malfunction, a pending fault code will be erased rather then permanently stored in the DME memory. Consequently, the "Service Engine Soon" light will not illuminate. In one case (P1030 Valvetronic position control), the diagnostic works correctly, but the scan tool cannot read out the fault code. This diagnostic software error would not cause any drivability problems. In order to remedy this situation, BMW is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign to reprogram the DME control module on all affected vehicles. With the completion of this campaign, the software in the E90, E91, E60, E61 vehicle's control units will be updated as described in SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization, Programming) Procedure B. A copy of the customer letter is attached. AFFECTED VEHICLES This Recall Campaign involves 325i/iA/xi/xiA/xiTA, 330i/iA/xi/xiA, 525i/iA/xi/xiA and 530i/iA/xi/xiA/xiTA vehicles with N52 engines which were produced up to 10/04/2005. In order to determine if a specific vehicle is affected by this Recall Campaign, it will be necessary to utilize the "Service Menu" of the DCS (Dealer Communication System). Based on the response of the system, either proceed with the corrective action or take no further action. The Chassis Number Ranges listed below are only for informational purposes and are not to be considered as the only deciding factor. Model Chassis Number Range 325i KR56053 – KR59937 NH93005 – NH93141 PS64040 – PS64170 325iA PT00048 – PT02060 KR62113 – KR66999 NK30024 – NK31128 325xi KT78014 – KT78076 325xiA KV00032 – KV00478 325xiT AV98013 – AV98018 325xiTA KW22040 – KW22096 330i AZ85053 – AZ87580 PS05034 – PS05101 330iA KR72054 – KR81997 KS31001 – KS33204 PS10006 – PS10211 330xi KL59027 – KL51130 300xiA KV59027 – KV59415 525i B992033 - B992199 525iA CK78008 – CK86240 525xi B999050 – B999092 525xiA CB86014 – CB86997 CS34091 – CS35760 530i B996037 – B996305 530iA CM30011 – CM38979 530xi CC34005 – CC34253 530xiA CG65038 – CG68274 530xiT B799019 – B799094 530xiTA CN00039 – CN02415 CORRECTION Update and recode complete vehicle as per SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization, Programming) Procedure B using Progman V21.00.01 (Target Data Status E060-06-03-510, and E89x-06-03-510), or higher. LABEL INSTRUCTIONS After the vehicle has been checked and corrected, obtain a label (SD 92-319) and with a ball point pen print your dealer code (5 digits) on the Recall Completion Label (see illustration). An initial quantity of 50 labels will be sent to all BMW automotive centers. Peel the label from its backing and affix it to the right (passenger) rear side of the hood in the engine compartment, close to windshield.
