DIY - Stainless Steel Pedal Pads
Had the day off and installed the BMW Stainless Steel Pedal Pads for my baby. here's the process and the pix...
OUT OF THE BOX: BEFORE THE MOD: EASIEST PART OF THE WHOLE MODIFICATION...TAKE THE OLD OFF... SIDE BY SIDE. BRAKE PEDAL. This was was a toughy. trying to stretch the rubber without popping out the steel out was a mission. but it wasn't impossible! ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS NEXT! Its a simple screw from the bottom and slide it upwards and unplug it. CLOSER PIC OF IT GONE! PLUG IN THE NEW AND..WALLAH! CLOSE UP: FEW MORE PIX OF THE FINAL RESULT!

very nice. seems a lot easier than the screwing the rest of us have done for our pedal sets. No dead pedal, though?

I got these pedals too from my BMW dealership and am going to install them tomorrow. I hope the installation goes as smoothly with 3 pedals. They look exactly like my OEM Porsche pedals so I wonder if the Porsche dead pedal cover will fit the BMW.

It's really hard to put the brake pedal in. Should I take out the steel first?
Any trick?

After about an hour of sweating and putting the popped out metal back in I finally decided to throw in the towel and pay my delership to install them (they took me right in, so that was cool). It was $45.00 well spent! I put the the ones that you have to drill and mess with those small screws in another car and that was 1000x easier than stretching the pads without popping the metal out especially with the smaller pedals on a 6 speed. You are a way better man than I am Ehden, my hat's off to you!

Ensure the steal is in first and start from the top area of the brake pedal and insert it from the sides and finally stretch it out while pushing the steal plate in so that it does not pop out! the accelerator was the easypart. just put some finesse into it!
