Euro Plate Install - step-by-step

Finally, I got my plate from licenseplates.tv and installed it on my front bumper to cover that nasty scratch/scrape. I also ordered the OEM Euro Plate holder (coming in a week - so I may reconsider later on how to install it). For now, it looks greeeeat and is a great remedy, as opposed to painting my front bumper.

I opted to use heavy duty double sided tape for the install. Here are the pics of how I installed it and hopefully it may help future would-be-euro-plate-do-it-yourselfers

those are not heavy duty tape. the heavy duty one are the ones with the red ribbon. those tapes you used are for picture mounting on the wall. front plates looks great.

Did you order the OEM plate holder from BMW? I have a custom euro plate with bracket. Just need to drill into the front bumper.

But if there is something offered by BMW I might want to use that instead.

I would be weary. In a lot of states it is illegal to display two sets of plates, even if they are only novelty plates.

I have a front vanity Euro plate as well, that I bought from Europlates.com. I also bought a black plastic frame for it. I can bend the plate itself no problem of course, but my problem is that I can't figure out how to bend the frame so that it will maintain the shape.

I bent the plate, and put it in the frame, but the frame tries to straighten out too much, so it won't follow the contour of the bumper. I mounted it anyway, hoping the tape would hold it, but it just popped the tape...

Any ideas? I was thinking of heating the frame in the oven and bending it, but I don't want to melt it either.

If I was to ever install a front euro, I'd go this route. I think the direct/curved application looks much better than the euro holder.

I actually have an actual OEM "euro plate holder" on order from crown bmw. They were able to get me the actual part number and source it in a different catalog. This plate follows the contour of the front bumper and is very nice and flush with it too. its very thin and not thick like the us version. see this thread and look at the pictures - http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77915

when this arrives, i'll most likely use it in place of my tape solution.

Yeah, that holder actually is pretty nice. In my case, however, I don't have any holes drilled (no front required here), so I'd still prefer taped.
