HUD + iphone 5 and playlist track names
Hello -
I've searched this forum as well as the general F30 forum and could not find anything on this topic. I have an iPhone 5 updated to iOS 7 connected to a 2014 F30 with NBT nav. This following issue happens when I'm connected via bluetooth or through USB. The track names that display on your HUD do not update when I change playlists/albums. The track names for the first playlist/album that loaded when I started the car stay on the HUD even when I change the playlist/album. If I change the playlist/album during a trip, and the new playlist/album has more tracks than the prior, I can't skip to the tracks that are greater than number of tracks that were available in the first playlist from the HUD. Not only that but the track names displayed on the HUD doesn't match the songs that are playing since it's still showing the track names for the first playlist that loaded. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is this a known issue? Is there a fix/workaround for this issue? |

You're not using iTunes match are you? That is, are you streaming your music from the Cloud vs having the songs actually on your phone?
I ask only because I've had problems with displays not updating when playing music from iCloud that I don't have when my music is actually downloaded to my phone. |

Does this work only with iTunes or is Spotify just as good an option?

The tracks names just don't update on the HUD when playing music through iTunes (or AKA the native Music app on the iPhone). |

So this happens to me as well, and I've discovered that it's mainly when I'm playing from playlists using the "Random" feature. I've read in another thread that this is due to the size of the playlists, and the trouble the iDrive has with indexing a large amount of songs. Have you tried with a smaller playlist, and see if the problem replicates? Even so, I don't know of a solution for the larger playlists...it's rather annoying.
