Double checking functionality

I have a 435i
Do not like nav, so did not get Nav or tech package.
If I understand it right. By doing this, I also do not have audio bluetooth streaming and no voice command for anything.
Also my text messages would not appear on iDrive and it would not read them or my emails for me (that would be office part of bmwapps right?)
Thanks guys

You're correct.

Sad, Sad. It can be "unlocked-coded" but BMW decides not to let me use the BT streaming on a 55k car and it is decoded

Yep, it's sad. My 12 X3 does not have navigation but does have the voice recognition so I didn't realize the 14 320 didn't have it, considering that the damn button is on the steering wheel. So stupid of them.

I've worked around it by using Siri in the car. It's works nicely and I pretend it's the button on the steering wheel working.

My next BMW will have the Navigation even though I don't need it....I want all the other fun stuff you get if you have it.

Use a USB BT music receiver as a cheap $10-15 solution around wireless audio.

That is not the issue, many options brought up here that work fine.
But when you pay that kind of money, you expect more.
I guess certain things never change, a civic has it but a 435i does not

I just picked up my 14 335xi in December and felt the same way 52k and I can't even get streaming audio standard or use the apple lightening cable. I worked around it by coding my car to turn of the enhanced USB and BT so at least that is working now and I didn't have to pay for it by getting the tech package I actually spoke to bmw NA for my survey and made it very clear that paying for a 50k car and you don't even get enhanced bt/USB standard is a joke. I told them that all the equipment was in my car for it they just decide not to code it to work unless I spend 2200 on the tech package which is ridiculous. They agreed and said they would bubble this up but I doubt it will change.

I love my bmw so of course I deal with it. I think bmw knows this so that is why they think they can get away with lol.

Agree it is pointless to hold this feature back for a few dollars. My rental Kia forte while I am in for an audio upgrade has all BT functionality. It is such a simple tech at this point. I can see how combox integration is harder but we are talking simple BT operation.
