The F01 7-Series has been a real hit for BMW, but the company is not resting on its laurels.
An LCI 7-Series has been planned for some time, and should be arriving to market in the near future. The overarching theme of this LCI (stands for Life Cycle Impulse -- A facelift), is to 'not fix it if it ain't broke'. The changes are subtle on the whole and aim to freshen and not re-invent the look.
These series of spyphotos seem to confirm what was previously speculated. The overall shape of the headlights is unchanged, but there is now incorporation of the latest LED technology, which is filtering across the BMW range.
The kidney grills now have a thicker and more pronounced kidney grill surround, accentuating the grills and making them look larger.
The bottom section of the front bumper is re-worked and speculated to be similar to the
Concept BMW ActiveHybrid 7 front fascia.
The side mirrors now have small cutouts for turn signals, another new trait filtering throughout the upcoming BMW lineup due to safety regulations.
Not much is known if there will be changes to the interior, we speculate that if there are any changes, they will be minor.
However, there is strong suspicion that BMW's acclaimed 8-speed automatic transmission will now appear on the 7-series, which has not made the transition as of yet.
