2018-19 BMW 740i i Level

Good morning,

I recently purchased a 2019 BMW 740i it comes with idrive 6, I'm interested to upgrade to idrive 7 but i hear this is not possible with software only? is that right or am i misunderstanding.

Also i have reached out to a BMW specialist that is willing to update my i Level software, What is the latest I level available for idrive6?

Take a look at this thread. Seems to be decent success with overall integration.

Latest I-level available in version 4.46 is S15A-24-03-540

BMW told me they won’t update unless there is something wrong. Anyone in here offers that as a service?

You current i-level is 22-07, which is not that old.

They perform warranty update if it is needed for new component fitting or to fix a software issue. You should however get them to do it on your own buck if you want to.

I do not recommend whole car update as remote service as connection outages might cause issues and car needs to be hooked up to power supply.

Im mostly interested to go to the latest software as i play to code for full screen carplay. But will see how much BMW will want to do that
