Tune reliability
Hi everyone, I have a 2016 750i xdrive and I’ve been planning to go stage 1 for quite a while now. However, I went to my local tuner who specializes in BMWs and he advised against me tuning my car and suggested it would put too much stress on the 750. My car had about 87,000 km as of right now. Is anyone here tuned with a 750? Also, how long have you been running a tune for and how reliable has it been? I’m planning on going with bootmod3.

With the amount of miles you have, I'd definitely change your plugs and do some maintenance before tuning.

These cars are not reliable without tuning, can you imagine what could happen after you tune it especially at 90k?
I say leave it alone, the car is already crazy fast considering the size and weight. My two cents! Quote:

I’m running BM3 stage 2+ (E85) and it’s been nothing but smiles. I have about 50ish k on miles and I been running it for about 10k. I did go with NGK 2 step colder plugs but I didn’t gap them (maybe when it’s time or before hand, I will).
I believe as longest you’re NOT trying to race to every light, full send every 5 minutes you should be fine. Always stay on top of maintenance, drive it as you normally would before the tune and such. Just don’t abuse it. |

Did you find that the tune was worth it performance wise? I know some companies exaggerate their effectiveness, so while I am looking into doing the DME tune, I'm hoping its really worth the investment.
