BIMMERPOST NEWSBMW 7 Series LCI Facelift Spied We've spied an advanced 7 Series LCI facelift prototype and it's looking like the reveal is coming in the very near future. The refreshed 7 Series' biggest change will be to the front fascia. Full LED headlights will come to the 7 series for the first time, with the turn signal lights now integrated into the eyebrow. We can now also make out a more aggressive lower bumper, with more pronounced and longer splitter fins on the lower lip, in an overall look similar to the BMW Concept 7 Active Hybrid from 2008. The Kidney grilles receive a thicker and more pronounced grille surround and the side mirrors now incorporate side indicator lights. The interior does not show too many cosmetic changes. What we see is that the trim surrounding the navigation screen has been updated slightly. But the refreshed 7 series may be the first BMW model to receive the upcoming optional touchpad iDrive dial (not seen in this prototype), which we spotted not too long ago on the next generation X5 prototype. The refreshed 7 series may very well debut soon at the 2012 Auto China show in Beijing in under two weeks. The 7 already looks so good. I would love to see the touchpad drive system in play and see how it performs.

Also gotta believe the 750i/Li will get the N63+Valvetronic ("N63tu" ?) with 445 hp and 480 lb-ft since it is already destined for the 6GC.
And the 740i/Li will surely get the N55 @ ~320hp to replace its current N54.

Not sure what this has to do with a 7 series update, but the only changes the 2013 M5 will see are minor electronic changes, nothing customer facing, per our interview from NYIAS @ http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=672295
2013 M5 will get new options however, like B&O audio, carbon ceramic brakes, new Sakhir Orange color, etc. See more details @ http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=671848

F10 was introduced for MY2010. Squared off angel eyes started with some MY2012 vehicles.
huh? This thread is about the 7-series. What does this have to do with the M5? |

The 7 Series will get the "new" N55 making 320 PS and N63 making 450 PS, LED headlights, B&O soundsystem, touchpad iDrive, side repeaters integrated in side mirrors, revised front and rear bumpers, new colors in and out. V12 stays the same.

Looks like someone took these images from the rear lot at the FIZ. Saw this exact car there today. They should have taken a picture of the car a few over- it was a less cladded 4 series! (maybe those pictures are coming...) The LEDs look great at night and really make the 7 look new again. Unlike the E65 this car doesn't look old at the refresh.

Touchpad iDrive I am very interested in.... the limited info I have says it functions like a computer touch pad to control the cursor and will do basic alpha numeric recognition. The 7 will also finally see the 8speed! I heard another rumor that the light spot system will be available with the night vision but can't confirm that yet... should be soon the wrap comes off. |
