Official Bimmerpost Photo Contest #103 "Steadfast"

The theme is "Steadfast" as in, submit any photo that exemplifies the meaning of Steadfast.

Steadfast: Adj. - Resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.
"steadfast loyalty" Synonyms: loyal, faithful, committed, devoted, dedicated, dependable, reliable, steady, true, constant, staunch, solid, trusty.

Submission deadline is May 15th, 11:59pm CST

RULES:

1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules is welcome.

2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.

3. Images must be no larger than 1440pix on the long side. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under the above for the poll.

4. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on Bimmerpost).

5. All images must have a title.

6. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

7. Only one submission per person.

My friend, you've kind of limited us on aspect ratio. Why don't you say something like 1440p on the long side? That'll allow for square and all sorts of stuff in between. That'll still keep the size reasonable without forcing us to re-crop.

No need to sit out. Most Smartphones have plenty of firepower. The subject and emotional content will be what wins this, not IQ in a 50" print.

Mauna Kea - Hawaii

A little explanation courtesy of Wikipedia and the Smithsonian:
- It began as a preshield volcano driven by the Hawaii hotspot around one million years ago
- Mauna Kea is the highest peak in the Hawaiian islands. Massive dormant volcano rises 13,796 feet (4,205 m) above sea level and in the winter its top is often blanketed in snow.
- Its summit is considered to be a most sacred—if not the most sacred—spot in the Hawaiian archipelago.
- Its rugged peak, covered in small cinder cones or puʻu, is the home to a handful of Hawaiian deities.
