Why does this remind me of an iPhone?

The Japanese market is known for alot of these types of high end special editions.

As the name implies, the G11 7-Series has been painted in a unique Rose Quartz color which as you can imagine is a glimmering rose color.

As is expected, the car also comes with special 20" wheels and the full compliment of interior colors and designs from the BMW Individual Program

Inside you will find Smoke White Merino leather complemented by a Smoke White alcantara roof lining, Ash Grain black wooden trim and the multi-function leather steering wheel with wood trim.

Of course as standard there are BMW Individual door sill plates, rear comfort package, Sky Lounge panorama glass sunroof, massage rear seats and heat comfort comfort package.

The Rose Quartz 7-Series models rides on the 750Li (long wheelbase) as their platform.

Wait for it, the car is priced at 20.19 million Yen (~$193,900).

More will be shown November 2 at the Ritz-Carlton Osaka.

Looks good, a little matte accent on that rose quartz would make it even cooler!

The regular 740Li in many parts of the world outside of North America and Europe are priced at around USD $200,000 FYI. Relatively speaking this sepcial edition is not expensive.

Are these special editions sold as is or can you further customize them via BMW Individual (if applicable to model)? If you can further customize it, I don't see a problem of someone spending the type of money it would likely cost if they don't want to step up to a Rolls Royce Ghost. People already do it with Mercedes-Maybach S-Class

That chrome side blades look terrible regardless who effective they are for aerodynamics.

A 740Li in the UK is £75,000... because the public made a slightly bonkers decision to leave the EU without knowing how it was going to happen in reality the pound has admittedly fallen against the dollar. It means the 740Li would cost approx $92,000... Some considerable way short.

I think this thing is way way too expensive for a painted 7 series... and if I were to spend approx £150,000 on a BMW it would have to have at least an i6 or V8 in the middle of the car and weigh less than 1500kg (and therefore hasn't been invented yet).

However I'm sure the BMW 6S 128gb will suit someone

Yeah cars prices in Japan is actually relatively cheap compare to other Asia countries like Taiwan, China, and Singapore. A forum member recently bought a M6 GC in Singapore and it's about $420k USD.

I dig the wheels but the paint makes me think of a Mary Kay car. Not good.

After the unveiling of the new 5-series, the 7er looks more like a big G30 than the other way around. Nice looking car for sure, but it just looks like a "big 5-series" instead of something truly special.
