It is amazing how so many report they that the G12s are just sitting on lots and customers have great buying power to steal a great deal. But, BMW must be doing something right if they are selling more and leaving customers happy with terms.

Something is strange with the way in which the stats are being reported. It's not clear if they mean the first model year or the second. It's also not clear if they mean actual sales numbers or percentage increase. If percentage increase, would be dependent on the sales figures of the outgoing F01/02 model, which may ve lower relatively compared to prior chassis generation changeovers.

"There are lies, there are damned lies, and there are statistics." I think said by Mark Twain. Why would they be discounting both 16s and 17s unless they wanted -- or needed -- to induce more sales? But hey, I'm happy with the deal I got on a 17 arriving soon.

Legally, a convenience store cannot sell the same pack of gum for different prices to different people, but dealerships can the same vehicle or airlines a seat on a plane. It is all marketing. Last edited by Almaretto; 11-14-2016 at 01:15 PM.. |

I'm still confused as to whether this is referring to pure numbers or simply the year-over-year percentage change. I'm guessing the latter because reports have said that BMW has been unhappy with sales and wants to launch a new 8-series to boost sales. I think designers attributed the slow sales to the excessively conservative design both inside and out. I guess people don't care about stupid gimmicks like moving your car forward and backward with the key or using your finger to change the volume when the damn volume button is right there on the steering wheel already. Seriously, these are two highly-marketed gimmicks BMW has marketed a lot that nobody will use even more than once. There are probably massive discounts on the 7er at the moment.
The bean counters at BMW are trying their very best to ruin the brand. Say what you will about Bangle and iDrive from the early 00s, at least those cars drove like BMWs. Ever since the E89 was release in 2009 every subsequent model has been a disappointment to drive. |
