Yeah that's interesting.

Tesla making no money and has USD 1bn R&D investment (2016).
BMW making billions and has USD 5bn R&D investment (2016).

And the main argument by Tesla fans is usually 'Tesla don't make money because they use all income on R&D', as if that is something amazing...

I have a Tesla myself, but will easily swap to a BMW EV suitable for 3 kids when available
