2020 7 series..worth it?
What to do!
I have a 2016 750i with 20K miles. Been very happy with the car! Looking to change soon, but I see the new 2020 model will have an updated exterior but will have the same current interior. (very outdated) After seeing the new 3 series, X5 and even the X7 (I was in last night), they all have that amazing new interior with all new larger screens and so much more. Not sure if it even worth getting the 2020 7 or the 2019 X7? i know its a mid-life refresher but why should i spend another 100K for a car that will be completely outdated in 2 years when the all new 2022 7 arrives. You would think the 7 would get all the latest updates before the other models Any thoughts? |

Where do you see that the 2020 seven will not get the refreshed interior? That would be strange.
I'll be looking at a '20 towards the end of next year, so I hope you are wrong.

I’d avoid it for the oversized grille it’s bound to get.
It will have an updated interior, at least the instruments and nav screen, but unlikely to get the latest climate controls from the X5/8 series The X7 looks to have a good quality interior and would be a great family vehicle, but I couldn’t live with the styling. |

I can't imagine that the LCI will will not get (parts of) the new interior concept of BMW.
What it will get is are the new (way too big) kidneys. Not my cup of tea at the moment...

I really think the new kidneys are nice. That said, I just picked up a 2019 760 this week. Did not want to wait for the LCI.

from the picture I attached, it shows an updated steering wheel and electronic dash, but I was hoping they would have updated the center console like the X5, X7 and new 3 series

Everything you see in the new X5 will be included in the LCI G11/G12
Remember the 7 is BMW's flagship car and they always put their very best into it. |

Yes, agree. They will not let the 7 lag in technology very long. It will be interesting to see what they include in the LCI. My lease is up in November so it is a '20 I would be looking at later next year.

I sure hope so, because BMW is calling this just a refresher, they made it sound like there is not a lot of update in the interior.....

Interior will remain old-school style save for only a few mods, like the OS 7.0 with the all digital gauges and the new central screen layout and the stepped up dashboard top as has been pointed out above.

I do not like the center console on those new models and loathe the engine start/stop button in that location. Looks cheap too.

IMO the HVAC controls in the new X5 are a joke, cannot believe they put so many controls we enjoy with buttons now into the iDrive. The new iDrive 7 is a great upgrade. The HVAC is another story, don't get carried away with the new look, had a new loaner X5 for over a week and hated the HVAC controls, feel, and location. Prefer the 7 system any day.
My mini review of the new HVAC from X5. https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=24169394 Last edited by cracker123; 01-07-2019 at 08:24 PM.. |

Per my sales rep, the interior WILL be updated with better materials -- everything in the same place, but glass shifter, better knobs, better leather...
