Buying a pre-owned 2016 750i
I'm in the process of negotiating a deal on a 2016 750i with Full HEA Executive/M-Sports package etc. Could you please advise if I need to get the dealer to update the car with the latest firmware as I'm negotiating? What firmware version should the car have? Thanks

You can download updates to your BMW via https://www.bmwusa.com/owners/software-updates.html.
The update can be downloaded to a USB drive which you can use to update your car. Good luck with your purchase. |

Thanks for your comment and the provided link. Does this link also provide firmware updates for the ECU unit as well or only the multimedia system? Thanks

The downloadable updates are for the multimedia/communications system. ECU updates require a dealer.

Look for NBTevo_. What letter is immediately after the underscore? Current version is Q. This is somewhat an indicator of how old your iStep may be. To be sure your dealer can tell you. BTW, the software users can download through the BMW update site only updates some minor Bluetooth, Media and/or BMW Assist functionality/compatibility.
