Australia, Monaco, France, Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Singapore, Japan GP Cancelled

Unfortunately, the Bahrain and Vietnamese GP's have been postponed. The announcement was just confirmed by F1. Given how many domestic and international sporting event were cancelling their events, this was bound to happen.

This would make the Dutch GP the first round on the calendar, assuming it doesn't get postponed as well. Will be interesting to see which races get rescheduled and which ones are cancelled. As we've see , F1 doesn't have much wiggle room in terms of scheduling.

https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...c6Mg2kfgH.html

https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...uzVuu7lEa.html

By my count, only the Australian GP has been officially cancelled. The Chinese, Bahrain and Vietnamese GP's are all still in the running for a new date at some point in the future. Given how hard it was to find a new date for the Chinese GP, I'd wager to say all three will be officially cancelled at some point.

EDIT:

Here's a complete, up-to-date list of postponed races:
Australia
Bahrain
China
Vietnam
Canada

Rescheduled races:
Great Britain
Spain

Races that WILL NOT be rescheduled:
Australia
Monaco
France
Netherlands
Azerbajian
Singapore
Japan

Now that I've re-read the second article, it would seem there is a good chance the Dutch and Spanish GP will be called off, considering F1 is quoted as saying the season will resume "at the end of May". Could Monaco be the first round? Interesting times ahead...

It looks like the Monaco GP is close to being postponed as well:

https://www.grandprix247.com/2020/03...lly-cancelled/

I know there were reports that the season could potentially be picked up at the Azerbaijan GP, but this is the first report I've seen that actually mentions Monaco being postponed. That being said, it seems that of all the races that have been cancelled so far, Monaco is the one that F1 is trying the hardest to reschedule given it's the prestige.

FIA understandably does not know a lot like us and can only go with what positive information the medic scientists can come up with and make decisions from that.
With the hypothetical scenario of the whole season being cancelled will the '21 season (if that runs) postpone the new regs for cars and continue with the '20 specs.

Yeah, it would be interesting if they would allow the 2020 cars to run in 2021 and push the new regs out by one year.

The commentators on 1 TV during pre season testing made a good point that these 2020 cars have absolutely everything thrown at them to make them fast since the regulations are changing for 2021. I really want to see them race and how they perform. But on the other hand, I'm really curious how the 2021 regulations will shake things up and if they will make things more interesting.

I really do hope we at least get that many races. That would actually put a bit of a spanner in my plans as my family and I planned our summer vacation around the F1 summer shutdown.

I dread to look at the news to see the count rising with the vaccine still around the corner, and then time for it to be distributed and applied and how..by injection, tablet or syrup? but indeed this corona thing needs to be terminated before we can fully enjoy all our pastimes.

Well, there is some hope. I've read a few articles that there are a few companies out there with a preliminary version of a vaccine. The issue (and rightfully so) arises with all of the thorough testing that needs to be done before its released to the public.

One the topic of racing, I came across this lovely and detailed article that explains the calendar could shape up for this year and which of the the currently postponed races could actually be rescheduled. It actually provides some great detail and insight on the topic. Definitely worth a read even if some of the assumptions made turn out to be different:

i read it but there is part about F1 trust.. credibility more likely..
it doesnt make sense cause this virus is not a everyday thing that taking part in history and F1 is taking every needed step for not spreading it.. if its for commercial part, no ones business is stable these days but after virus hopefully vanish F1 ll be F1 again.. lets hope that least amount of families affected by this...

Mates the predictions regarding Corona are bad . Very bad !
Worse case scenario : "No F1 race in 2020"

Stay safe and healthy are the priorities ...For everyone !

Indeed. It's hard to imagine, but this makes a third of the schedule postponed, most likely cancelled.

Word is that even when the vaccine is ok'd then it won't be mainstream until end of this year even beginning of next year. It's ok for Alan Jones saying Melbourne shouldn't have been cancelled but there's always a big brother controlling all sporting events.

Interesting development on the issue of rescheduling races. All teams have unanimously decided to let F1 and the FIA reschedule any races without their approval. The teams will still be consulted on the matter but their unanimous agreement on any new dates will not be required. This is all assuming we will go back racing at some point.

It's also official that the Monaco GP will not be reschedule for later in the year. There will be no Monaco GP in 2020 which, personally, makes me sad. Despite how hard it is to pass, it was still one of my favorite races of the year.
