G11 - Depreciation

Hi,
I'm currently looking for a 2017/18 7 Series. Looking for something with around 20k miles on it.
Let's say it's worth around 35k GBP today (decent spec).
How much do you think the car will be worth in three years with 20 to 25k more miles?

Thanks all for your help

I would say around 19/20k maximum low if you are going for a diesel because they were the cheaper option and mainly because of the ULEZ charge to come within london. But to be optimistic I would say around 24/25k mainly because the price is already at around 35k which is reasonably higher than a good amount of the 7s on the market. But to be honest nobody can really tell, I guess time will tell....?

Ordinarily I would say look at some retail prices for a 5 year old car with c. 50k miles and take £3-4K off to get a sell price, however here in the UK, where we both are, there are a number of things that are going to adversely impact future values of large diesels, such as congestion charging, bans from certain city centres, and possible taxation changes, once HMRC have to fill the funding gap from increased adoption of electric vehicles.

I normally work to a £6k pa depreciation budget on my cars, but I think with vastly reduced mileage, I may keep this until it is no longer viable, which could be quite a while - it is just sat on the drive and done under 40 miles in 3 months.
