I know there is no such thing as stupid questions only stupid people, so let me be stupid for a moment. Are these aftermarket brakes? I only thought OEM brakes are only option for G11. I have 2018 740iX and even the indys can do OEMS.

Aftermarket yes if you want to call it that but some of us go with Brembo which is already making the OE parts for your car
Going from the stock calipers and rotors to the Brembo kit I didn't notice a huge improvement in braking. The OE braking system on the G12 is already great at least in the 750 models The problem is they do not make any brackets for our rear brakes. Me and a buddy of mine had to 3D print a bracket to adapt the rear and while it works just fine we don't have the power or legalities to sell these and make more for other owners. Here is what it looks like though |

This result you cite was not my experience on my old E66. Went to larger E60 M5 brake rotors and calipers, which might have had something to do with it, and had an incredible improvement in braking performance with Gtech measured results before and after. https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/m.../#post-8185801 |

After owning my M760i for a couple months now, the only weak spot on the car IMO is the weak brakes relative to the capabilities of the car. The incredible power combined with the incredible weight mean that even the very large OEM brakes don't seem to be quite up to the task. Really wish they had made the CCBs from the M5 at least an option.
Seriously, genuinely thinking of looking into whether or not the CCBs from the contemporary M cars would be adaptable to this car when my OEM brakes need to be replaced in a couple years or so. Can't help but think they'd be a massive improvement. |
