Bowers and Wilkins EQ settings
Just purchased a 2020 750i xDrive with the Bowers and Wilkins system and I have to say I am disappointed in the sound quality and believe the Bavsound speaker, sub, and amp upgrade in the G30 I traded in sounded much better. I know this system has the potential to be amazing with the correct EQ settings, but I’ve only been able to find posts/videos regarding EQ settings for the Harman Kardon system and nothing for B&W. Does anyone with this system mind sharing their EQ settings?

Hi,
I have a 2016 G11 750i with B&W Diamond Surround system. I attach 2 pictures with my preferred settings: "On Stage" sound profile. And the EQ profile. I have read reviews of people having trouble finding the right settings. After some use I am satisfied. Though I listen at quite high volume to experience the "bass massage". Would be great to know what settings you find ideal, to exchange experience. |

Hey congrats on your new purchase. I own a 2016 G12 with the B&W system and I just found settings someone posted on YouTube after doing extensive tests for the best EQ on the system. I believe they used a 5 series to do the tests but it's similar enough I decided to give the settings a try. Here's a link to the video if you want to see the in-depth tests through user conducted.
For the actual settings themselves, here's the EQ setup: Bass -3 100hz +4 200hz +2 500hz +2 1hz - 0 2hz - 0 5hz - 0 10hz - +2 Treb - Flat (or +1) Studio preset If you find this is still lacking, here is my previous settings I used which had a little more thump. I got these from the following YouTuber: Bass +3 Treb +3 100hz +6 200hz -6 500hz +3 1khz +2 2khz 0 5khz -2 10khz -1 Studio preset Last edited by Th3Spectre; 01-01-2023 at 11:40 AM.. |

As edojac posted, I found the sound profile setting to have the biggest impact on how the system sounds. Like him, I’ve found the “On Stage” profile sounds best to me. Mine is a 2017.
B&W supplies, at least with my car, a thumb drive for the system, too. It’s in a CD case along with the owners manual, warranty, etc. |

I'd say the most recent settings I've started using (first set of the two posted) have been great for mid to high volume. Low volume is a bit heavy on treb, but having that clean sound for mid to high listening volume is great! I think you'll appreciate it if a clean sound is what you are after. If anything it will be a good starting point to adjust as you prefer! |

Yes I agree with you, the N63TU3 should especially be solid! My TU2 has been holding up nicely. I did just get it tuned to put out 575hp and 625 tq on an E30 mix. She hauls absolute ass. The headroom for tuning on these motors is insane. Last edited by Th3Spectre; 01-01-2023 at 12:21 PM.. |
