interesting video, thanks!

it's interesting how the i7 M60 kind of keeps up with the AMG. too bad that test is not with the M70! but the breaking at the end is a bit disappointing...

Bmw should’ve make it in the way so it weighs 3 tons. That should help with braking.

Hey, we all like speed, but I did not buy my 7 (or the prior 2 or the two 5 series before that) for its straight line speed. Mine is a 760, not an i7 but it doesn't matter.

Wow that Taycan is easily the most attractive EV and it's not even close.

Taycan turbo s is the best for sure but there is no way you can buy a new one for 154k in US. EQS AMG is 152k the cheapest and can get about 15k off from msrp. The most expensive EQS amg I see is 166k and they can give me 20k off of msrp. Turbo s is at least 200k you will be lucky to get some discount.

I didn't pay ADM on mine, you may need to cast a wider net when searching. Ordered May 2022, agreed on MSRP at allocation waiting list, picked up February 2023.

Although the 7 series is not suited for drag racing and it has the lowest power output here, it is still weird to see any BMW come in last place. I’m sure the 760 is a decent amount faster than the i7 though.

Yup, the 760 is definitely quicker. The the i7 M70 should be quicker still. 3.5 seconds 0-60 I believe. Still surprising the BMW almost kept up with the much higher HP AMG on the roll on contest. The M70 will probably beat the AMG, but not the Taycan Turbo S as those have run the 1/4 mile in the low 10's.

indeed! what still bugs me is the braking in this video. porsche, yep, alsways first to stop - but the difference between BMW and merc... I'd like to se a comparison there with multiple tests!

I love super fast sedans but when you get into Plaid or Tycan Turbo its useless power.

The issue with Tycan is the same with all Porsches and that is the endless options. A Tycan is not a $200k car. The interior pales in comparison to the 7 or the S class. In some models they actually have plastic door panels and dashes like a Mazda.

For what it is the 7 is a incredible performer as nobody is throwing their 7 around a course. The Tycan in GTS and up handles insane and is a genuine 2dr replacement but then it compromises 4dr usability.

These YouTube comparisons are always limited by what is alone dot them vs usable data

Tycan 4s vs BMW vs MB would be better outcome and price points.

Several things come to mind here:

1.) What’s the cost delta between these vehicles? Gotta imagine a Taycan Turbo is close to $3000/mo lease

2.) As others have stated, what is the usefulness of a speed comparison? Like outside of Taycan Turbo owners, are folks really buying that Merc (or most Mercs for that matter) or the 7 for speed? Feels rather useless.

3.) Seriously, how much is a Taycan Turbo monthly? Asking for a friend (really just me with an unlimited budget)?

4.) Wouldn’t a more useful comparison on the BMW side have been an M8GC? And on the Merc side maybe a AMG GT? I know they aren’t electric so there’s that. But not sure if BMW has a comparable model.

Since new F95 LCIs are running in the $2000/mo+ range a Taycan in the stable wouldn’t be terrible…
