For security reasons, BMW did not publish electric range figures

The post title is misleading. The artical attached from autocar talks about both the gas and electric versions.

Always been fascinated with this stuff. Growing up in Germany, my father purchased an armored E34 from a German banker and that thing was surely a tank in its time. Loved telling friends at school that we had an armored car.
Cool to see the tradition continues. |

I think it's a cool idea that an OEM is still offering something like this coming straight from the factory...
Is is beautiful, no. It's unique though. So, I'll reserve my dislikes for it rather than attack it.

The number is a lot higher than 7 or 8, and in fact your tax dollars are hard at work - because this vehicle is used for several European based, US 4 star generals. Armor is required for these individuals, and a BMW blends in a hell of a lot better in their locations then the standard armored Suburban. But - maintenance was/is a beyotch! Seals, etc, due to the weight. State department is also a buyer. Again - US variants stand out way to much. In Africa, it’s armored Land Cruisers. Europe and parts of Asia, mainly BMW. Mideast - the Chevy’s. |

being all electronics disabled, the CEO is perfectly safe from being kidnapped - the door will be locked for good with all the electronics dead for the i7 they will implement a jettison feature for the main battery pack in case of damage... then a secondary battery will allow speed up to 10mph for 5min...... |
