Birds... Damn BIRDS!
Living on the coast of NJ there's a plethora of flying animals of all kinds. I guess it's to be expected that at some point my sapphire black G80 will be the target of one or two of these beasts. Sure enough I went out this AM to go to work only to see a nice dime sized turd literally in the middle of the hood. I was in a hurry so I quickly hit it with the hose and drove off. I can see though whatever this bird ate left a nice little stain or deposit in the paint. I have some mild water spot remover and scratch cream from Chemical Guys to try, but what do you all use?

I keep detailing spray in the trunk and use it if I see a bird dropping on the car. I had three panels repainted eighteen months ago and want to keep it looking good.

I have that too but I'm afraid I'll scratch the paint if I use that on the car that hasn't been washed in a few days with your typical road grime on it

I keep a bottle of water, dealtailing spray, and a few microfiber towels. Fortunately the front of my car has PPF, and the entire car has ceramic coating. Using the water and towel I gently wipe off the bird crap. Then I use the detailing spray to remove any remaining poop.

If you have a matte or light colored Wrap you need to ceramic coat to protect it.
My first wrap got ruined by bird shit not being cleaned fast enough. My next few cars I did clear PPF and never had problems. The washless spray or the detail spray will work well for this. Keep it in the trunk with a small MF towel. |

Trunk mounted AA auto turret. Expensive (almost 4x the cost of the car) but worth it!

Step 2 - Over the weekend, wash the car fully and inspect for any paint imperfections. Clean and fix those, as appropriate. Step 3 - Add a layer of protection to the car's paint with sacrificial ceramic coat. Of the four cars I've personally coated, the original Adam's ceramic has been the longest lasting (3+ years to date, all others have degraded). HTH, a

Here is a video walk-through of a someone cleaning vehicle from birb poop and caked-on dirt.
For more stubborn dirt, iron remover and clay towel were used, followed by polishing and ceramic coating. Disregard the product placements, but the process and results are reasonable:

And make sure you use quality microfiber. I really like the Chemical Buys professional towels. You can search "Chemical Guys MIC 506 12" on Amazon. The deep pile side works great for safely lifting foreign material from your paint.
