I’ll add another vote for the Ryobi. I received mine about 2 years ago as a Father’s Day gift from kids, so I didn’t have much say in picking the unit. It’s been running like a champ for 2 years though. The only drawbacks are it is a little noisy (not obnoxious), and the flow rate doesn’t allow me to use the rec dec sprayer nozzle for the final rinse.

As other’s have said, I’d focus more on getting quality components for the setup than the pressure washer itself. My setup has the Ryobi 1.2gpm unit, 50 ft Kobrajet hose, MTM SGS28 gun, knock-off Amazon MTM reel, Griot’s BOSS foam cannon, and an Envig DI unit. It foams and cleans really well, and I’m just as OCD as the next guy about keeping my cars clean, especially my BSM 340i.

Here’s a shot of my setup:

It’s not the prettiest, but this isn’t our forever home, and it’s functional and very effective.

You don't need to spend too much. The $80 harbor reight unit is quite good and does a great job with a larger orifice nozzle like 3.0-4.0.

You can spend hundreds on your gay sounding krazle dazzle units, but your car won't look any better.

My Karcher pressure washer has been great for several years now and wasn't particularly expensive. If wherever you store it for the Winter potentially gets below freezing, I'd recommend putting in some of their antifreeze before you store it. Dirt cheap insurance policy, and I've had previous pressure washers die after being stored for the Winter in my garage.

While mine worked, it was great. But it only lasted 1 season.

I don't know about him, but I don't. I just dry it immediately and have no problems at all with water spots.

I would buy a westinghouse unit if I was to buy another cheapo pressure washer.

They are 1.75 GPM (A very important number in detailing) and 2100 PSI.

My $350 Active 2.0 is 2.0 GPM.

I've been happily surprised by this that I just purchased to replace the one that just died. Has worked flawlessly.

ONR is magic – I don't think there's anything you can't use it for. I'm pretty sure you can even put it on your cereal or use it as hair gel.

I'm also a big fan of Beadmaker. It's cheap, hard to screw up, and leaves a nice shine. You can't expect it to provide any long-term protection, or really any protection at all, but if you're using it that way you're doing it wrong.

ONR is amazing...i just used it for the first time on the interior, and i was really surprised on how well it works...on everything!!!

Also, i have had bead maker, its not bad...however i have switched to meguires ceramic sprays...and honestly its just as good and i can find it at any autoparts store...the convience of it is nice...
