Can we please get a dark mode on the forum?

Yes please! This is an ancient version of the forum software and could desperately use an upgrade.

Most web browsers today have dark mode plugins available, and the one I'm using works great on BP.....

Although the forum doesn't respect dark mode settings in the browser, there are countless extensions that help -- some are better than others, I don't think any are ideal.

For example Dark Theme in Chrome appears as:

I have been able to use dark mode on the android app for 5 years now atleast.

Sadly dark themes in Firefox do not. I don't like 3rd party browser extensions really because they are constantly used as vectors into info leaks and compromises. I don't really see it as asking much for a native dark mode on the forum.

Same with iOS -- it respects the OS preference, but that's almost free for apps, probably tougher with such old forum software.

I didn't mean to imply it was too much to ask, just mentioning alternatives for Chrome users (haven't tried Firefox alternatives). If there was a native dark mode (or it respects the browser setting), I would definitely use and appreciate it.

FWIW, looks like vBulletin v6 and later has built in dark mode settings. Bimmerpost is running on an older version (and probably well past EOL). Definitely one problem with running on proprietary software rather than one of the modern open source alternatives (discourse, nodeBB, etc).
