Colourlock Leather Shield - New Car

I'm prepping for delivery of my car next month and recently purchased the Colourlock New Leather Care Kit. The interior is full Silverstone/Black and I want to come up with the right process to protect the leather once I get the car.

Given that it's new, do I need to do the cleaning step or simply apply the Leather Shield to the seats, dash, and doors? Do I also need to test in a non-conspicuous place before doing everything? I know it may seem like silly questions, but I've never had the full leather before and never applied a protectant previously.

TIA

I used Gyeon products. That included Natural Leather Cleaner and Leather Shield. I did a full cleaning of the leather with the cleaner and then used the Leather Shield which is a ceramic product. It was all an easy process but somewhat time consuming. I did the cleaning one weekend and then the shield the following weekend.

If you watch a bunch of th super type A detailer videos on the subject, they all clean before putting down the protectant.

It looks like the kit comes with Mild Leather Cleaner so just follow instructions and clean the leather before applying.
I am using both Shield and Protect on our cars!

On my M60, I used the Conditioner without cleaning it on the new leather. Next time, I will clean, then condition.

I watched this video with some reps from Colourlock and that’s what one of the guys said at the 21:13 mark.

And downnn the rabbit hole I go after reading this thread and watching that video.

I hope this doesn't come across as a thread jack, but curious which kit you would use with a off lease 2024 car w Marino leather? Leather looks super fresh and I want to keep it that way!

I've watched that entire video a couple of times now. Need some way to pass the time watching my ship sail across the ocean.

Based on the video and the age of the leather you'd want this. It's Leather Shield for leather up the 3yo and then Leather Protector for leather > 3yo.

I used it on my 23 M340i and 25 CLE53 AMG.
No problems with either application. Clean it first with the mild cleaner and then apply Shield.

I got my car yesterday and another question came up related to using Leather Shield. For those will the full leather interior, did you use Leather Shield on the dash as well or just the seats and doors?
