Almost the entire state is red with the exception of Northern Virginia, Richmond, and the Newport News area…. it sucks.

VB flip flopped regularly but its NORVA that skews the numbers the most. Its basically South DC. I lived there for two years and the people were insufferable during covid.

Just like The People's Republik of Kommiefornyastan. Because states are true democracies, the population centers rule the state. LA, SF & Ventura counties rule the PRK, with 99% of the rest of the state deep red. That's why there has been many, many attempts to split the state.

My GF lives in southern IL - same thing. The entire area is country and looks just like MO and IA - but Chicago votes for the whole state so they have no say in anything and the politicians know it. I can't get over how they talk about them too. Anyone outside of Chicago is called "downstate voters". No - they are THE state voters - you people in 2% of the state just dictate the vote and take all the taxes and fraud.

Now Citadel has pulled out of Illinois and Caterpillar (who has been there like 100 years) is leaving too. But just like NY and CA - they don't learn from this - they just crank up the heat on everyone else that is left.

My main house is on 3 acres. I also have a 158 acre farm about an hour away. My GF lives in a modest house on a small lot. Mow it with a push mower in 45 minutes. She pays over DOUBLE the real estate taxes I do on my house and farm........COMBINED. It's insane. I refuse to get gas in her state as it is always .60-.75 more due to taxes.

She is done teaching after this year and 29 days away from being done and getting out of that state for good. They lose 50K tax payers a year - she will be one of them this year.

I had the KELTEC Sub2000 and it was a hoot! Lots of Failure to feed issues but i didnt care about its dependability as it cost like $300.

I think its a great idea for a truck gun, I have a B&T APC-9 for that job currently with a foldable butt stock to keep it small.

That’s more or less the use case I’m after. I want something inconspicuous.

FTFY.

Will reiterate - I'm jealous of all the firearms you guys get to have down there. Some really cool items.

For me, it doesn’t come without hurdles. I’m split between two states -California and Nevada - due to employment and residence, and I’m certain if I purchase in CA, it will likely require stupid restrictions. If I purchase in NV, I won’t have those restrictions and can purchase a suppressed version of the Remnant; I have suppressors in NV. The unknown is my “Nevada seasonal resident” identification card. I have to keep a valid CA driver’s license because driving government vehicles is a condition of my employment. Because of that requirement, I cannot hold a driver’s license in NV simultaneously. I have never purchased a firearm in NV, so this is all uncharted territory.

So retirement is looking bright in other words...I've probably got another 16 years to go at least until I can maybe retire. Hopefully my health is good!

Definitely! I can’t wait to escape this poorly run, albeit with a beautiful coastline, state of California. I have 13 years left before I can truly walk away with the prize. Like you, I hope I make it to the end with my health intact. Thankfully I’m a naturally athletic guy who still lifts regularly, trains the arts, etc.

Yeah, this was developing over the past few weeks. The Bears wanted a new stadium along with financial/tax breaks. Apparently, Johnson and Pritzker didn't put up a serious package thinking the Bears wouldn't ever follow through.

Meanwhile the folks over in Indiana rolled out the red carpet for the bears with tax incentives and support for a new stadium to be built.

The deal with Indiana hasn't been finalized but based on what I've seen from various sources, it seems to be pretty close.

Horrible boating accident, lost all my long guns and most of my pistols over board, never found them.
It is getting to be a mine field for concealed carry folks who travel or who might be near a blue border.

That’s unfortunate. Penalizing law abiding citizens goes against constitutional ethos.

In addition to Da Bears, the Chiefs also announced that they are pulling out of Arrowhead in Missouri for a new stadium across the border in Kansas.....

Trying to decide on a WML for my shotgun. I don't normally want to use a firearm as a light source, especially when I'm pointing it at something which I consider a big no-no. However this will be for the home and around the house and it takes two hands to hold and fire a 12 gauge, at least for me.

Thinking about a Fenix TK20R with a Fenix ALG-16 mount. I have a thing for flashlights and can always use another.
