In my fabricator days I had a issue with a customer over not attaching the racing seat to the roll cage and NOT the floor. If you attach the seat to the floor and you get hit, the cage will pass through the driver. If attached to the cage the seat and cage will move together. Common practice these days on race cars not built as race cars from the ground up.
