$400 for install stage 1 dinan?!

I'm working with my local bmw dealership on getting stage 1 dinan software for my F80 next month. Cost of software is $2499 + $400 for install? Is this right or am I being raped here?
Others paying $2499499900 for software and install?😠

that install price is ridiculous> got mine done at no cost>negotiate for a lower car price if they want to play that game

is your dinan warranty worth $2000?

the BMS Stg 1 achieves the same performance, but is around $2K cheaper, and installation takes 30mins DIY

No offense, but they are trying to rape you. A software job should cost $0 labor.

Um a new ECU needs to be installed with the BMW DME, so yeah there is labor.

I would do it yourself and save all of it.

I've had dinan software placed on my 2001 m roadster and later on my 2011 M3. In both cases, it was 16 r labor or about $100.

Sorry. $2499 for software plus $407 for install

Stealership quoted me total of $2907 for stage 1 dinan

I'm trying to negotiate a carbon fiber splitter and diffuser.

Why must it always be this game with dealerships?

I think quoted install time posted by Dinan is 1.5 hrs labor. Labor rates do vary from place to place, most authorized Dinan BMW service places tend to offer deals on installment to help make the sale for the Dinantronics.

As to why the game, that's how they make money.

They are quoting you full retail - install should be an hour of labor and is easily paid for in their margin.

I think that is a bit silly. (sounds like part of the $407 might be sales tax, though?)

Anyway, the install is not time consuming, but does take a great deal of dexterity.

For less than half you can get a JB4, mod the car, and have the ability to change between different MAPS. You're not trapped in only stage1 either ... You can get new mods and try different octane fuel while switching MAPs on the fly, also having options to open/close your exhaust flaps, turn active sound on/off, make you LED lights brighter, etc..

Plus you can install it yourself in 30 minutes

That's absurd. I just sent you a private message.

Direct them to the Dinan website which states it should be 1.5 hours, so $150 max for labor.

I am a Authorized Dinan dealer and you are unfortunately at the mercy of a BMW dealership and their rates that they choose.
Find an independent Dinan dealer or purchase it from a dealer and install yourself.
Comes with complete installation instructions and the module will be programmed already for you.

I've owned both. BMS Stg 1 is not the same.
