Ok so I finally got around and installed the JB4, after 1:30 mins I was able to install the painful and not so easy tune. Now I have a drivetrain malfunction light on... I did not happen when I was driving it happen at cold start this afternoon, now my question is How on earth I reset the check engine light without the stupid USB cable that I just find out that I pretty much need or the dam thing is worth less !!! is there a map that sets the car back to stock and clears the code/s ?
Sorry guys I did lots of research with my phone no desktop here I am not home. I came from the Cobb platform with the hand held device and it was great to load maps and clear/read codes so far I am very disappointed with this JB4 it's NO easy at all to install all I keep thinking is when I have to go back to the dealership and having to do this all over again WHAT a PITA!! So again please help need to reset the drivetrain malfunction and I don't have the USB cable, dam thing is 800 dollars and no usb cable incredible !!! |

I miss my cobb tune. Easiest way to load maps. Plug it on the obd2 and done. Wish cobb sold a tune for the f80/82.

1. You drive an F8x and cheaped out by not getting the $15 USB cable? Seriously? Come on. 2. Why would you buy the JB4 and expect to run E85 blends without the map switching capability? 3. How much E85 did you put in the car? 4. Map 0 is stock setting.

I'd also put the EWG connectors back to stock if installed. Those have been known to cause a startup code on certain JB4 firmware & DME versions. They are not used for any maps other than 6, 7, or 8 anyway. You should be on map 2 with your E85 mix.

Did you update the JB4 firmware?? I was getting codes like you, then updated my firmware, it all stopped.
Now granted, I still inconsistently get them running map 6/7...

I have the same problem but I can't connect the jb4 to my PC. I might want to try this step too. But what is EWG connectors? And where it connected to?
