Larger brake rotors
What is the recommendation for replacing OEM Rotors and calipers. I want to get larger brake rotors for my 3.0i Z4 so it can better fill the space left when using the 19" M6 replica wheels.
I don't want to break the bank, but I also don't want some crap either. Has anyone changed their rotors? Can anyone point me in a good direction? Any ideas? Thanks. |

mov-it has some good looking systems for our cars.
http://www.movit.de/rahmen/bmw.htm there is a guy on here from germany who has them on his Z4.... here is a link to his site. http://www.z4racing.de/ he has some good up close photos, etc. i plan on doing this upgrade when my warranty (free rotors/pads) goes away. |

I think BBK's are "break the bank" territory with most setups averaging $2000 with installation.
Alternatives are PowerSlot with larger rotors and a bracket that moves your caliper further out for increased torque. However, with brakes, just putting something on cuz its bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. Brakes have to have the proper bias from front to rear otherwise you risk throwing the car off "balance" and could probably have your rear swing out from braking into a turn or may cause havoc with the ABS as the fronts may be clamping harder than the rears, etc... Bottom line, do the research first.
