Spacers Install Question

I installed 12mm MS spacers in the front and 10mm in the rear. I noticed that the 10mm in the rear did not go on smoothly - I actually had to bang them in, which almost makes sense to me because it leaves no room for vibration. The 12mm in the fronts on the other hand do not sit tight on the hub and I did experience vibration. My first question is, are the spacers supposed to fit snug on the hub to the point that they need to be forced on or are they supposed to be loose? I cleaned the wheel hub and the wheel (center) with a wire brush before installing them and still had vibration in the front at speeds over 75mph. All comments and advice are welcome.

You shouldn't have to bang anything in/on for fitment. Spacers should slide on snugly and sit flush onto the hub.

I didn't mean that literally, but I did have to use a little force to fit the 10mm onto the wheel hub. Those are fine by the way. My concern is with the front. There appears to be a slight gap between the diameter or the center space of the spacer and the wheel hub. It's snug, but it's slightly loose which I believe is attributing to the vibration. When I move the spacers from side to side or up and down while it sits on the wheel hub there is slight movement.

Was the hub a bit rusty or corroded? Also, was it cold or hot outside?

A wire brush isn't enough if the vehicle is from the north I would imagine you would need to spray some brake cleaner on the hub and let it soak for a while, then hit it with a brush.

Sometimes I will use a rubber mallet to get mine on but it shouldn't take much force. I torque my wheels to 120 ft/lbs and experience no vibrations with my 15/12 MS spacers.

No winter driving on car and the hub looks and feels pretty clean. So you're torquing 120ft/lbs? Maybe that's my issue. I only torqued to 90. What's the recommended with spacers?

a bit rusty but nothing unusual or unnatural. I think it could be a torquing issue.

Sorry I meant 120nm which is around 90ft/lbs, You should be good, maybe up it to 100ft/lbs and verify there are no bends in the wheels.

did you drive around on them for a while and then rechecked? When I went to take the wheels off the bolts loosened up pretty easily considering they were originally torqued at 90ft/lbs. I am going to double heck them tonight and hopefully get a chance to get up to 80lbs to test them out.

I have Macht Schnell and I'm lowered on Swift Springs. I will post pics when I get time. I think the 12mm front and 10mm rear on lowered springs is enough because there's no rubbing at all.

Nope.. you didn't hear this from me but the eBay ones seems to be well made. Tracked them, no issues. Save the money and take your lady out to a nice dinner.
